HISTORY AND MISSION |
| |
| In 1977 CARE incorporated with the single goal of
assessing the treatment needs of those suffering from the
problematic use of alcohol and/or other drugs. The intent was
to establish a free-standing agency, with the capacity to make
an unbiased referral for treatment based on the individual needs
of the client. |
| |
| Over time, additional services were added
including educational programs focused on preventing alcoholism,
tobacco use and other drug dependencies; helping students who
exhibit a need for treatment for drug use and/or other mental
health diagnosis; and assistance to businesses. |
| |
| Mission Statement |
CARE’s mission is to educate, link and support individuals, families,
businesses and
communities affected by family concerns, workplace
challenges, mental health
conditions and the misuse of alcohol, tobacco,
and
other drugs in southeastern
Michigan. |
