FAMILY TO FAMILY

Family to Family (F2F)

The Casey Foundation, founders of the Family to Family Initiative, believes that when families are supported, the number of children requiring foster care decreases.

The Family to Family Collaboratives in Warren, Roseville and Clinton Township have offered support and resources to families over a number of years. Data shows that the number of child abuse and neglect referrals to the Department of Human Services and the number of children being removed from their homes in Roseville & Warren decreased from 2006 through 2007.

The Family to Family Collaborative in Clinton Township did not start providing service until March 2008. From 2006 through 2007, the number of referrals and removals increased in this community. We would like to believe that Family to Family has had a positive impact on families throughout our communities. We are also working hard to decrease the numbers of abuse and neglect cases.

These Family Resource Networks (FRN) were then developed and are a community collaborative supporting social services agencies and community representatives who assist families from the three communities. The mission of WFRN, RFRN and CFRN is to strengthen and empower local families through prevention and intervention.
